Named after the small village of Morbier in the Franche-Comté region in eastern France, Morbier cheese is renowned for its strong and robust flavour, powerful aroma, and its unique thin line of black ash that runs through its middle. Traditionally crafted over a wooden fire, its semi-soft texture makes it great for melting, and its often used for classic French dishes such as raclette or fondue, or even as a burger topping. A fresh cow milk cheese that’s pleasantly ivory coloured, Rodolphe Le Meunier is renowned for being one of the best cheese artisans in France, and his family have been crafting authentic Morbier cheese for generations.
